Create a Game Room: Tips to Turn Your Attic into the Perfect Gaming Spot

If you do not have a man cave in your home, you may feel as though you are missing out on a good time or you may not have a place to store your pool table and hockey table. Before you get rid of your arcade games, check out the space that you have in your attic. In fact, many attics are roomy and can accommodate game tables and more. Below, we will go over some tips to help you turn your attic into the perfect game room.

Tip 1: Simplify the Colors within Your Game Room

It is important that you do not choose flashy colors or bright colors in your attic space. This is because it will detract from the game room itself and it may become more of a distraction than a complement to the walls. You should choose colors that are simple and plain. Consider options such as beige and black or gray and black and other colors along those lines.

Tip 2: Create a Beautiful Feature Wall in Your Game Room

If you are a sports lover or you enjoy a good game or two, consider creating a feature wall in your attic to help bring the look of your game room together. For example, if you are an avid video gamer, consider hanging up an air gun or two that is used for one of your favorite games or consider using old controllers as decorations on your wall as well.

Remember, you only need one focal point within your game room. Too many focal points will confuse your guests and you may begin to feel cluttered within the room.

Tip 3: Add Your Favorite Games, but Avoid Clutter in Your Game Room

If you have a small attic, do not try and fit as many games in it as you can. Choose a couple of games that fit well and then add some decorations and comfortable seating. For example, if the attic is too small, adding too many game tables can mean that you and your friends run into each other and knock into the tables. Choose your games wisely and avoid clutter at all costs.

Tip 4: You Need Seating in Your Game Room

We mentioned briefly above that seating should be in your game room and this is true. You need to have comfortable seating options for all of your friends and family.
