If you have a guest room in your home, you want it to be uniquely designed, but you also want it to be comfortable, cozy, and luxurious. But, how do you make that happen? Below, we will go over some tips to help you properly decorate and design your guest room.

Guest Room Design Tip 1: Keep the Bedside Table Stocked

Your guests, whether family or friend, do not want to have to bother you every time they need something, so it helps to keep the bedside table stocked at all times. You should keep tissues, an alarm clock, and any other helpful items in here.

Guest Room Design Tip 2: Keep Breakables Out of the Room

Unless you do not mind something winding up broken, it is wise to keep breakables out of your guest room. You never know when an accident may happen and you do not want to burden your guests with having to tell you that they broke one of your most precious items.

Guest Room Design Tip 3: Add Storage Space

Whether your guests plan to stay for three nights or three weeks, you need to make sure you have enough storage space within the room that they can unpack their things. No one wants to live out of their suitcase while on vacation, so do not make your guests do it either.

When it comes to additional storage space, a wardrobe, dresser, and maybe some interior hanging baskets in the closet will help.

Guest Room Design Tip 4: Have Fun with the Decorations

When it comes to the design of the room, have fun with it. You can choose any theme that you would like, but make sure you stick with it. For example, if you live down by the lake, you may want to have a lake theme or vice versa for the beach.

No matter what theme you choose, make sure that it carries through to your décor and bedding as well. This way, the entire room matches and does not clash.

Guest Room Design Tip 5: Don’t Forget a Toiletry Basket

Lastly, you should provide your guests with a toiletry basket as a good gesture. Your guests probably already brought their own stuff, but never assume so. You should place a basket in the room that has some towels, face clothes, soap, toilet paper, and similar.

If you have a guest room, try to make it as cozy as possible, but do not forget to provide the basics to your friends and family who stay at your home.
