Outdoor Bar: How to Look Like a True Party Host

Whether it’s summer or fall, you want to enjoy the company of your closest friends and family and what better way to do it than in your outdoor kitchen? While you cook up the BBQ ribs and whip together to potato salad, it may seem like something is missing. That’s because it is! An outdoor bar.

An outdoor bar is the perfect way to keep your guests entertained and relaxed while you cook on the grill and swim in the pool. The best part about your outdoor bar is that you can use any time of the day or night. So, go ahead and grab your blanket, cuddle up by the fire pit, and pick your poison.

Below, we will go over what you need to stick your outdoor bar to look like a true party host and not just an amateur with a rolling cart.

Outdoor Bar Supplies 1: Decide on a Stationary or Mobile Bar Cart

You need to have a bar first and foremost. You do have two options. You can go with a bar that is stationary and attached to your outdoor kitchen or you can choose a luxury bar cart that can be stocked and rolled around as needed.

Outdoor Bar Supplies 2: Stock Up on Serving Supplies

What type of outdoor bar would you be if you did not have any supplies for your friends and family. At minimum, you will need to provide some drink mixers, fresh fruit (if you need it for the type of drinks you are serving), an ice bucket, stirrers, cocktail shakers, and you get the point. Make sure you have all of the supplies needed to make the drinks of the night.

Outdoor Bar Supplies 3: Fun and Fancy Drinkware

No one wants to drink out of a red Solo cup. Plus, you are not teenagers anymore. Make sure you have some fancy cups available at your outdoor bar. You should have an array of drinkware from wine glasses to beer mugs and even shot and cocktail glasses.

Outdoor Bar Supplies 4: The Liquor – Duh!

Don’t forget to stock up your outdoor bar with all of the liquor, spirits, and booze you need for the night. You and your guests would not enjoy a bar that only has supplies and glasses, now would you?

If you want to keep the party going and entertain your guests, consider adding an outdoor bar to your backyard. If you need help with the design of your bar, contact J. Design Group today for a free consultation.
