Modern Bathroom Using Soft Green Pastel ColorsNot everyone has the luxury of having a large bathroom but that does not mean that you can’t make your bathroom luxurious. All it takes is a little creativity, a few great remodeling ideas and some careful planning to have the bathroom you’ve always wanted regardless of what size it is.

How do you feel when you walk into your bathroom? Do you feel uncomfortable and cramped or is your décor so old that you feel like you stepped back in time a few years? If you’re tired of not having enough room to move around easily, remodeling your bathroom is a great way to breathe new life into an old design that just doesn’t work for you anymore. Below are a few great ideas to help get you started.

Five Remodeling Ideas for Small Bathrooms

Creating an interior design for small bathrooms requires you to take advantage of all of your space, so the first thing you want to do is eliminate anything that you don’t need. If you have a linen closet in the hallway, store most of your towels, washcloths and similar items in it instead of trying to place them all in the bathroom. This way, you won’t need as much storage space taking up all your room.

Once you have eliminated as much as possible, the five remodeling ideas for small bathrooms below can really make a difference:

  1. Replace the big bulky sink cabinet with a pedestal sink or look for a cabinet with a new, modern curved design that provides you with the drawer space you need, while giving you more room to move around.
  2. Install a small bathtub that uses less space or replace the tub with a shower stall. Either option will make your bathroom look bigger while maintaining functionality.
  3. Decorate with light colors to make the space appear larger than it actually is and keep it simple. The simpler the decor, the less cluttered it will look.
  4. Add a window or skylight to allow natural light and fresh air in to make the space feel more open.
  5. Use mirrors to create the illusion of more space. There are many decorative designs available that would dress up your bathroom and mirrored recessed medicine cabinets offer more storage space for personal items.

These five ideas can go a long ways in making your small bathroom look and feel larger than it really is but that’s just the beginning. Our experts here at J. Design Group can offer you many other options and ideas for remodeling your small bathroom that will cater to your unique space and personality.

Choose Your Flooring Wisely

When choosing the flooring for your bathroom, look for colors and patterns that will help create the illusion of more space. Light colors and large patterns placed diagonally will make your bathroom look bigger while dark colors will make it appear smaller. We can go over the different types of flooring with you and help you find the best options for your small bathroom.
